Named Ticket Holders/Ticket Renaming

Modified on Wed, 31 Jul at 10:56 AM

In instances where tickets require the name of each attendee, but attendees don't want to share their tickets, the solution is Ticket Renaming.

Ticket renaming allows either an admin user or customer to apply a name to a ticket, which is then displayed on the printed ticket for the exact scenario.

How to enable Named Ticket Holders

"Named Ticket Holders" is enabled as a company feature setting. This can be enabled in the hub for the company for which it is required via "Edit company details > Feature Settings > Named Ticket Holders".

If you do not have hub access or do not see this as an option, please contact your customer success executive to action this.

"Named ticket holders" needs to be enabled on an event-by-event basis. To do this:

1. In the left-hand menu, select "Events > View Events" and find the event you need to enable this on

2. Once on the event, click "Edit Details > Sharing restrictions > Shop ticket renaming"

3. This setting can then be enabled for shop users, box office users or both. This can be enabled or mandatory for both user sets:

How to add a Ticket Holder's Name to a Ticket

Once enabled, both shop and box office users can assign the item holder's name to the ticket during the checkout process.

Naming tickets as a Shop User (customer)

Customers can provide a ticket holders name by doing the following:

1. Select an event that has "Named ticket holders" enabled, and add tickets to the basket

2. Checkout and provide any data capture responses required

3. Once at the "Delivery & Sharing" step, click "Sharing > Edit Details", toggle on "Add attendees name" and enter the name of the ticket holder:

4. Once these details have been provided, click "Continue" and make payment

Note: If "Named ticket holders" is set to mandatory, the customer will have to enter a name for each ticket without clicking "Edit details"

Naming tickets as a Box Office User

1. Select an event that has "Named ticket holders" enabled, and click "Sell in box office"

2. Checkout, assign a customer or checkout as a box office user and provide any data capture responses required (optional)

3. Once at the "Delivery & Sharing" step, click "Sharing > Edit Details", toggle on "Add attendees name" and enter the name of the ticket holder:

4. Once these details have been provided, click "Continue" and make via the preferred method
