About Stripe Payments
Payment methods have undergone significant changes in the past decade to cater to diverse consumer and business requirements.
In countries like the US and the UK, where card usage is widespread, there has been a notable shift towards digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. These digital wallets offer enhanced security and convenience to users.
Similarly, certain countries like France and Japan have their own localized card networks, facilitating greater access to card-based transactions for businesses. Conversely, in countries like Germany and Malaysia, where card adoption is comparatively lower, bank-based methods are preferred and trusted for online purchases.
These markets rely on banking networks that provide a swift and secure checkout experience by allowing users to authorise payments using their online banking credentials. On the other hand, economies with a significant unbanked population, like Mexico and Indonesia, have popular payment methods that enable customers to make online purchases using cash vouchers.
It's important to determine the appropriate payment methods for integration, please consider your customer's location and your business model. Remember to conduct market research and analyse your target audience to identify the most relevant payment methods for your business.
