In certain situations, particularly when dealing with B2B customers, you might consider offering the option of payment by invoice.
You can enable this option at the company level for all events or only for specific events. When a customer selects the invoice payment option, the items (tickets, products) are reserved until the invoice is paid, at which point the tickets are distributed to the customer.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can skip this step and allow items to be issued at the time of purchase, regardless of whether the invoice has been paid. This can be done by enabling the 'Instant Access' feature, which can be applied to the entire account or only to specific events in the purchase settings.
The option to enable the 'Instant Access' feature can be found under Settings > Payment Settings.
If 'Instant Access' is not enabled, invoice sales remain as reservations until the invoice is paid.
With the update in Release 22, the 'Instant Order' feature now also includes invoice reservations. This means that the Event Dashboard and the Attendance and Order reports will treat invoices with 'Instant Access' enabled as orders, displaying the total value of the invoice, regardless of its payment status.
The option to enable the 'Instant Access' feature for only a specific event can be found via the Purchase Settings on the Event Dashboard.
